Christian preachers attacked by Hindu radicals

ANDHRA PRADESH, INDIA (ANS) -- In yet another savage attack on Christians in India, news has just come out that some thirty Christian preachers were beaten by Hindu activists belonging to Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) at Bainsa town in the Adilabad district of Andhra Pradesh.

A crowd of nearly 500 Hindu villagers attacked a house church in Mangalwarapete village, Karnataka state, India, May 1.

Assailants molested some of the women among the 60 people present at the Sunday service and burned Bibles and other Christian literature.

The Rev. S. Prim Vaiphei said a mob of 200 Hindus overpowered a police patrol and set fire to the Believer's Church on April 19. Damage to the building, still under construction after previous attacks, was estimated at around 445,000 rupees ($10,350).
